One fine weekend while I was observing the Sun's openness from my balcony, I was astonished to see a small pearl white egg!!!! But being little aware of its maternal links I kept myself away and discussed the same with my family members. My mother guessed it right and soon I saw a Pigeon flying to and fro in haste as it was preventing any damage to the egg from us. The concern here was, that we did not want to touch that Egg but the Egg was lying on ground. The summers was rushing in and with each passing day sun was showing more openness to us. All these factor threw us in dilemma! While we watched as novice caretaker the pigeon started incubating it.
Not many days passed we saw an empty egg moving with wind at our balcony.

Yes a life ended before it stared...

Wrong place wrong weather... V all were sad but nothing would have been done.

Just a weekend ahead .. In the morning as I opened the door to my balcony again, I heard sound of flapping wings of startled Pigeons. Before I could fix my eyes to any one of them my eyes caught

"White in color, two in number, oval in shape"
.. Guess what!!!!!!

Yes again BUT 2two2 eggs! But this time they were luckily on the abandoned flower pot, which had only soil in it. The date was 10/4/2010

I realised soon that the will not be manifested into SQUAB if they will not get proper incubation. I became anxious about their life. As I discussed about it , I came to know that very place was regularly used by my maid and eggs has no safety against heat water and dust, they may easily be touched and spoiled by any one in the home.

I felt defensive for them and requested all members not to go that side.

We kept peeping through the window and through the rift in the door.
Few hours passed and our maid came: she started with her daily work and as she entered the balcony she started arranging thing as she usually does and started dusting articles as she poured some water on the pot nearby I alarmingly cautioned her not to touch the eggs and be careful, for the moment she was ok but started playing with thing soon. My family members were adamant to keep that place "out of bound " cause you all know Metero's dont give you space for extravagant benignity. Still I persuaded all not to use space for some time. Soon came to my surprise was the helping behaviour of Family members some were providing water some were busy seeking the sate of eggs etc. With out going near to the eggs every one was keeping the an eye on it. There were no physical changes on the egg hence It was not very entertaining to watch them again and again. I can observe that Cock-pigeon guards the eggs in day and Hen pigeon in the eve and night. ( 15 /4 /2010 ) , Cock-pigeon is not very dedicated but Hen doesn't leave egg easily on small sound or actions. same as all other mothers . As i try to take pic they don't go far away Every morning I use to observe and shoot it once.

On 21/4/10 saw that there is some movement under the pigeon Hey the eggs hatched few hours before.. I can se the squabs two cute squabs with not yet opened eyes(it seems) Yellowish and pink. We were really happy to see the results. We were not sure about this beautiful birth of these two lil birds, as climate was very HOT and dry summers were there. Neither it was natural habitat for the Eggs to hatch.

We kept providing necessary items , though I suspect they were ever used as Pigeon would have arranged on its own. But still we did as part of our pious duty and entertainment.

BUT god always find ways to prove itself.

Few days later while chics were growing we could see movement that to radical..

I feel chicks were fed on MILK by Mother Pigeon, since there was no other visible means to feed them.

Soft beaks were turning hard and Dark

You may compare the size as my finger being ~10 cms away

8 days after the birth the wings are getting feathers.The color of chicks have changed.

Hairs are shedding off the body and feather are covering the space.

The head is more prominent having some properly visible hairs.

10 days have past & both chics have started playing and standing intermitently

Since parents are now becoming more confident and feeling secure, they are leaving kids for long and chics are alone long enough for me to try all angles and projection.
This is the right time to go closer or atleast shoot through tripod so that subject is captured well without disturbances.

Close shave ---- once I got so involved in observing these chics that I lost track of time and the parent returned, as they saw me close enough to the chics they hovered just above my ears, and as I turned back my camera felt the jerks. As I was collecting my material another Pigeon had a flight over my head. ufff !!!!!!

A nice close up , chicks now feel entertained while going through a shoot.

We have started cleaning the space since it became too DIRTY with the excreta and left outs.
As I reported earlier We have stoped disturbances and any operations in that area , hence It was full of dirt and waste. We have cleaned it now with new dish etc.

Both chics are very different in nature one is too quite and another is fast and furious. May be ther are He and She( I'm not sure).

The claws are changing their color, basically adult Pigeon have redish claws.

The feathers are becoming vibrant and prominent

Nearly First Flight caught 15/5 a month Long Journey Of "Wait Watch and Capture" completed well .

This happend again! SEQUEL ,,, As we were expecting that happy family to leave and go. My Family members started planning to use the space once again in their own way. BUT surprise came to our eyes as I saw One more egg there again on 15/5/10.
